Let us convert your project to TURBINE POWER
For many years, I have wanted a turbine-powered, back-country STOL aircraft that would have great performance at high-density altitude airports at maximum gross weight. My plans came to fruition in 2023, when we converted a Murphy Moose into a turbine BEAST! Other pilots wanted the same power so we formed TMCX to provide this opportunity to own and operate your own turbine-powered aircraft.
Our mission is to bring affordable turbine power to the experimental aviation market. Our turbine kits are designed by aeronautical engineers and produced by a PMA'd facility that has specialized in STC'd turbine conversions for agricultural aircraft for over 20 years.
Our team consists of highly skilled professionals with years of experience in the aircraft industry. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

A complete firewall-forward conversion to a PT6-20 turbine engine with propeller on a Murphy Moose is currently $350,000 -- installed on your airframe. For a Helio Courier conversion, the price is currently $360,000. Custom avionics panels, interior upholstery, Aqua-Tek float tops and flooring also available.
Our conversions are experimental exhibition or experimental amateur category only. We can convert: Murphy Moose, Bushliner 1850, Helio Courier, Bearhawk 5, and Cessna 185. Other airframes are in the works, so give us a call!
Fuel burn is typically 25% more than a big bore Lycoming or Continental ... but you can expect to cruise 25% faster at all altitudes. We have seen take-off distances reduce from 500 feet to 150 feet. Climb rates are over 2,500-feet-per-minute up to 12,500 feet MSL. High-density altitude take-offs, even at max gross weight, are effortless.
Ok, for those of you considering attending Air Venture in Oshkosh this year, a MUST stop is to see the TMCX Turbine Moose!!! My wife and I recently had an opportunity to fly in the T-Moose compliments of Ken. ‘The Beast’ as it’s aptly called, is truly an understatement! The firewall forward PT6-20 installation that Ken and his amazing team at Cascade Aircraft Conversions have done is a work of art, both in aesthetic design and performance!!! Starting at the fibreglass nose cowl and back onto a perfectly formed aluminum engine cowl, this conversion turns an already great looking SR3500 Murphy Moose into the Ultimate Back Country Beast!! Ken and his team have meticulously thought of all the engine design components that enable this conversion to provide for an ease of operation, high performance turbine aircraft, that will easily provide the Back Country enthusiast ALL they need in reliability, comfort and mind blowing performance!! Our test flight provided us an opportunity to see first hand what this aircraft is capable of….From the take-off, with three adults, with about half tanks of fuel, on a very warm evening, we were airborne in what appeared to be just over 300’, transitioning to a staggering climb rate of 2000-2500’/min, to a normal cruise speed at about 4500’ indicating 160mph. The engine runs so smooth, there is literally zero vibration….. your coffee cup could sit on the glareshield and not spill a drop! A slow flight demonstration in cruise, at flight idle, clean, produced a very stable and steady reduction in airspeed, with full authority in pitch, roll and yaw, and we were ultimately unable to stall this aircraft!! Amazing. Full throttle recovery was equally as smooth with normal and expected application of rudder and pitch control, but a staggering and immediate increase in airspeed back to cruise flight configuration. This is a huge plus with the PT6 power plant! This airplane is so stable in cruise! It’s literally a hands-off airplane when trimmed. Landing with I believe 30’ of flap was incredible. Great forward visibility into the flare and a resultant very short landing using very little braking, relying mostly on the dynamic breaking provided by that big fully reversible prop! What an aircraft!!!

Thanks for showing me the Turbine Moose. So much detail and precision into this project. You have a great team of engineers and FAA approval along with this build, really looking forward to the future with TMCX. Hope to get a chance to fly it again . And see you at Oshkosh!

Murphy Aircraft
Ken Meines ran over to my runway yesterday in his Turbine Murphy Moose. I'm a crop-duster like Ken and I've had the honor to fly a TON of cool aircraft. I can't talk high enough of this Moose!! Wow what a monster! This is what a back country plane should be! It flies similar to the Kodiak but also different, and of course way better STOL. I cannot imagine a situation that this won't really become a THING and Ken is overwhelmed with orders. The firewall forward is the cleanest out there and the fabrication is just amazing!
